GenAI Legal Research Basics

GenAI Legal Research Basics In-Person

Join research librarian Jacob Samuelson in this session which will cover the landscape of AI tools available to legal professionals. We will explore the critical differences between specialized legal AI platforms like Lexis Protege and Westlaw Co-Counsel, and general-purpose large language models such as ChatGPT. You will learn about the distinct advantages of using tools trained on curated legal databases, which offer integrated citations and a higher (but not flawless) degree of accuracy for case law and statutory research, versus the broader, more conversational capabilities of general AI.

Be sure to register ahead of time so that we order enough food for lunch!
